Lingerie Miami Founder Renata Black Brings the Sexy to Giving Back

When it comes to showcasing racy lace-wear, philanthropist Renata Black is all business.

The Miami native, whose foundation Lingerie Miami fuses together fashion and charity, hosted a sexy kick-off cocktail party at The Raleigh last night for the organization's upcoming showcase in New York this October.

"If you are going to do anything sexy and brave and smart, you are going to do it in Miami," Black said. "It's about women who feel strong and empowered."

"There is nothing stronger than a woman in lingerie."

Black's Lingerie Miami aims to empower underprivileged women who want to start their own business through microfinance. Her charitable group Seven Bar Foundation caught the eye of spiritual medicine man Deepak Chopra, who responded to a personal note she sent him last year appealing for help with sustainable initiatives and the pair has been working together since.

"I never thought we would be the friends we are right now," said Black. "He is not only my mentor but also one of my strongest supporters."
