Fort Lauderdale Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested After Attempted Carjacking: FBI

A suspect in a Fort Lauderdale bank robbery was arrested after he allegedly tried to carjack a vehicle Tuesday night, FBI officials said.

David L. Brasher, 37, was arrested on federal bank robbery charges in the Tuesday afternoon robbery of the Bank of America at 6100 N. Federal Highway, officials said.

Brasher, of Weston, was taken into custody by Fort Lauderdale Police after the attempted carjacking. Investigators believe he also may be behind the Oct. 30 robbery of a Wells Fargo in Sunrise.

Officials said Brasher was in federal custody and expected to appear in court. Attorney information wasn't available.
