Listen to Your “Heart”

Gen Art previews "Paper Heart"

There’s nothing like a good indie movie with a cute, bespectacled Asian girl in it. Think about your favorite "Rushmore" character: it was Margaret Yang, wasn’t it?

Gen Art
clearly appreciates these lovable quirky chicks, as it will be hosting an advance screening of "Paper Heart," co-written by and starring Charlyne Yi.

The movie also features Michael Cera and Seth Rogen and is about the making of a documentary examining the subject of love by Yi and her friend Nicholas (Jake M. Johnson). While making this film, which takes a skeptical look at amore, Yi falls in love and becomes the subject of the documentary. She moves from researcher to subject.

Yi was honored as one of Gen Art’s 7 for All Mankind’s “Fresh Faces in Film” at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, so it’s appropriate they honor her by showing this film for us lucky Miamians.

Gen Art
is an arts and entertainment organization that showcases filmmakers, fashion designers, musicians and visual artists and produces at over 100 events annually, helping you enjoy these creative caveats.

The film is airing on Thursday at 8 p.m. at Regal South Beach on Lincoln Road and the after-party will be rife with free drinks and good music. Come watch ArtOfficial perform live at the Catalina Hotel and Beach Club. It's free for members, $15 for non-members.
