Mermaid Manager in Hot Water

The manager of Weeki Wachee Springs has been fired after claims of sexual harassment

Some may say that when one signs up to work at a place where dressing like a mermaid (or merman) is required, sexual harassment is a job hazard (just ask a Hooters girl).

But when it's your boss, well, that's just wrong.

It's Better Down Where it's Wetter

Tommy Ervin, who is the manager of Weeki Wachee Springs State Park- - an old-school Florida theme park where families (and most likely the occasional creepy old man) watch women in mermaid costumes twirl around while holding their breath for a reeeeeally long time -- has been fired after a former employee accused him of sexual harassment.

Ervin had been manager of the park, which has been showing off tail for 60 years and was recently in danger of closing down until the state decided to take over, for less than a year.

According to a report, employees told investigators that Ervin had falsified payroll documents and offended mermaid performers with explicit comments.

Ervin denied most of the allegations.
