4 Arrested in Connection With Armed Robberies in Hialeah

Four people were arrested in connection with a string of armed robberies that occurred throughout the city of Hialeah.

The suspects were arrested Thursday night, including 23-year-old Leandro Rente, who faces charges of armed robbery, attempted robbery and resisting arrest, according to the Hialeah Police Department.

Two 17-year-old suspects, who NBC 6 is not identifying because they are minors, face charges of armed robbery, police said. A fourth suspect, who is 16 years old, is being charged with resisting arrest.

The suspects are allegedly responsible for a string of four robberies where they ambushed victims and robbed them at gunpoint, according to police.

They were arrested at around 8 p.m. Thursday when a Hialeah police officer spotted a vehicle that matched a description of a suspect vehicle and took them into custody.

A fifth person, who was in the vehicle, was later released when detectives found he was not involved in the robberies.

Rente remains in jail at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on no bond, according to online records.
