Sunday Talk Show Tip Sheet

The Obama administration is back in full force on the Sunday shows after last week’s Easter break.

Looking to quell the controversy swirling around her release of a report on the threat posed by “right-wing extremists,” Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano stops by CNN’s “State of the Union” for an exclusive Sunday morning appearance.

Additionally, CNN host John King has Sens. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) and John Ensign (R-Nev.), along with New York Gov. David Paterson, a Democrat.

White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is on ABC’s “This Week” and will be countered by House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio). And White House senior adviser David Axelrod makes CBS’s “Face the Nation,” along with Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, a Democrat, and Wayne LaPierre, executive vice president of the National Rifle Association.

Larry Summers, the director of the White House National Economic Council, is on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” And Obama economic adviser Austan Goolsbee sits for an interview on C-SPAN’s “Newsmakers.”

On “Fox News Sunday,” former CIA Director Mike Hayden reacts to the Obama administration’s release of Bush-era torture memos, along with Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.).

And on Bloomberg TV’s “Political Capital,” host Al Hunt interviews House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) as the Obama administration turns its attention to new global warming initiatives.
