Same, Boring Food Expected at Pitchfork

After checking out the food truck oasis at Bonnaroo, we've been excited to see how Pitchfork Music Festival—the Chi-based, three-day, 40 indie-artist fest taking place July 15-17—plans on one-upping the competition this year. In short: they're not.

In fact, this year's vendor list is a near carbon copy of 2010—the exception being a slight downgrade, losing Bite Cafe and The Berghoff. Certainly, we considered that maybe we were spoiled by last year's all-star chef line-up at Lollapalooza, but then again Coachella fans had access to Pink's Hot Dogs and the Kogi BBQ Truck. Even the options at Austin City Limits seem more interesting.

More importantly, the list is a real let down considering three-day passes are up to $110 this year—as opposed to $90 last year. And with hundreds of folks sequestered to Union Park for three days without much in the way of pre-show dining nearby, the vendor-to-concert goer ratio should undoubtedly prove frustrating. Get excited! [The Feast]
