SCI FI Becomes Syfy

The global brand SCI FI has officially become Syfy.

The brand evolution occurred on Tuesday, with a refreshed look and feel for both the on-air channel and online portals.

Syfy kicks off with a two-hour premiere of new series "Warehouse 13," starring Eddie McClintock and Joanne Kelly.

In addition, Syfy will celebrate the launch in a two-minute brand film, "House of Imagination," starring talent from "Warehouse 13," "Eureka," "Ghost Hunters," "Caprica," "Sanctuary," "Stargate Universe," and "Destination Truth."

Online, at Syfy.com, there are also significant changes including a new, brighter design and more accessing digital content. Visitors will be able to get non-stop coverage of entertainment, consumer electronics, and gaming.

For breaking entertainment news in the science-fiction genre, the site continues to maintain SciFiWire.com.

According to Syfy President, Dave Howe, "With the new tagline, Imagine Greater, Syfy allows us to build on our 17-year track record of success with a brand built on the power that fuels our genre, the imagination."
