Shopping for the Wild Things

Locals go wild shopping for themed apparel

With the release of Where The Wild Things Are today, many local fashionistas and fans of the flick have gone wild shopping for themed clothing and accessories.

Everything from tees to pillows to coloring books and dresses are on sale and selling out fast.

Brands like Junk Food and stores like Neiman Marcus, Urban Outfitters, Target and Walmart are stocking their shelves with plenty of memorabilia.

In South Beach, Ashley Bowman, 24, was trying on tees at Urban Outfitters.

“I’ve never read the book, but the shirts are so cute,” said Bowman. “I’m really looking forward to seeing the movie.”

At Urban Outfitters, the selection of clothing features everything from leggings, tunics, dresses, jumpers and skirts by designer Mary Meyer. Cute character t-shirts are also available in v-neck and run under $30.

Bargain shoppers looking for a few deals will find calendars, XBox games, and collector edition books at Walmart.

Target has a collection of toys for the tots, which are available online, like the Funko Max Wacky Wobbler.

If you have a little extra cash, check out Neiman Marcus. They have books and character stuffed animals.
