South Florida Forecast: Thunderstorms On Deck Wednesday, Thursday

Highs Wednesday will be in the upper 80s

The rainy season is officially underway according to our colleagues at the National Weather Service.

A pattern of daily thunderstorm activity coupled with high humidity levels since May 8 means that we’ve entered the part of the year when most of our annual rainfall accumulation occurs. The past couple of afternoons we’ve seen some widely scattered thunderstorms, but nothing too widespread.

But the rainstorms should start to affect a greater area Wednesday and Thursday afternoons as high humidity combines with the heat of the day to facilitate the formation of numerous thunderstorms that will move into the metro area each afternoon. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s.
