Teacher Carjacked in Northwest Miami-Dade School Parking Lot

Police are searching for the two suspects caught on camera carjacking a Miami teacher inside of a elementary school parking lot.

Surveillance footage captured the incident Tuesday just after 5 p.m. in the parking lot of Biscayne Gardens Elementary School off NW 151st Street and 5th Avenue.

The car’s owner, 59-year-old Flora Martinez, could be seen walking to her dark blue Toyota Corolla when one person approached her with a firearm and demanded the keys. Martinez gave them up and ran toward the school while a second person arrived and both drove away.

Police say the two suspects, described as black males between the ages of 15 and 17, crashed the vehicle into a curb when trying to drive away and fled the scene.
