Teen Girl, 2 Men Used App to Lure Robbery, Kidnapping Victims: Broward Sheriff's Office

A teen girl and two men are accused of kidnapping and robbing at least two men who thought they were showing up for dates in Broward, and authorities say there could be more victims.

Ednita Leon-Alamo, 17, Peterson Joachim, 22, and Shnyder Dumas, 19, are facing charges including armed robbery, kidnapping and carjacking, according to a news release Tuesday from the Broward Sheriff's Office.

Authorities say Leon-Alamo poses as a woman on the MeetMe app and lures victims to a location. Once the victims arrive, masked men ambush and kidnap them at gunpoint and Leon-Alamo rides along as the group goes from ATM to ATM to withdraw money.

Surveillance footage released by authorities shows the group stopping at an ATM. Officials also released an image showing Leon-Alamo's MeetMe profile page under the name "Emily Perez."

In one case, the victim met Leon-Alamo around 1 a.m. on Aug. 7 at a house at 5105 Northeast First Terrace in Deerfield Beach. The second victim met her around 2 a.m. on Aug. 8 near East Sample Road and North Dixie Highway in Pompano Beach.

The victims are released and threatened that if they contact law enforcement they'll be in trouble because Leon-Alamo is a teen, authorities said. Detectives are looking for other victims and not pursuing charges against anyone who was duped, officials said.

Anyone who is a victim is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
