7/6: The Girl Who Played With Tuesday

A thriller preview, drinks and BBQ and live beats

THRILLER NIGHT: When a 2,000-page thriller trilogy sells 15 million copies all over the world, igniting such success that a movie deal follows, it's worth a little curiosity. Stieg Larsson’s Millennium trilogy ("The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," "The Girl Who Played with Fire" and "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest") is about to launch "The Girl Who Played with Fire" in theatres across the country, but Larsson’s untimely death at 50 meant he never saw his first book published. Tonight, Books & Books is showing "Millennium: The Story," a film about Larsson’s overwhelming success. Attendees may win movie passes to the upcoming release. 7 PM.

STUFF IT: Miamians' love and devotion to happy hour is established, but when deciding where to swipe the plastic you work so hard for, consider what else a spot has to offer. SRA Martinez in the Design District has appropriately artsy décor, a happy hour with half off ALL beer and cocktails and a Tuesday-only Spanish BBQ. Start out sipping at 5 p.m. and get a family table after 6 p.m. for the weekly all-you-can-eat feast serving weekly meat and delicious sides. Happy Hour from 5–7 PM. Spanish BBQ every Tuesday night, $35.

BA-HIP-POP: Stardom is born only after the release of your own iTunes application. Thus, the platinum album producing, Billboard Latin Music Award winning band Aventura is approved. Fresh off their tour in Mexico and South America, Aventura is traveling the USA for the rest of the summer and performs tonight at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. If you haven’t heard of them already, Aventura mixes “bachata” with R&B, hip-hop and pop. Show starts at 8 p.m., but get your tickets now. Price starts at $79.
