Two schools in Deerfield Beach were placed on lockdown due to police activity in the area Wednesday morning.

Chopper 6 was over the scene at Deerfield Beach High School and Quiet Waters Elementary School, where Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies were on the scene.

Officials confirmed the lockdown and said it was due to reports of a person trespassing on the high school's campus shortly before 8 a.m., but said a person had not been located.

The lockdown was lifted shortly after 11:45 a.m.
