A man is facing battery charges after he was caught on camera driving into a crowd on a motorcycle and running over a man during a fight outside a Davie restaurant, police said.

Evans Enrique Diaz, 32, was arrested Saturday on charges including aggravated battery, aggravated assault and simple battery following the fight at the Twin Peaks restaurant on S. University Drive, Davie Police said.

Police say Diaz and another man were involved in a verbal fight inside the restaurant that became a physical fight outside in the parking lot. Cell phone video of the fight shot by a witness showed Diaz punching the man three to five times in the face, police said.

After the fight was broken up, Diaz got on his Harley Davidson motorcycle and ran over the man, hitting him in the legs, according to an arrest report. Diaz fell off the motorcycle and was subdued by bystanders until officers arrived, the report said.

Diaz was booked into jail. Attorney information wasn't available.
