Vogue Endorses Local Boutiques

Vogue has picked Miami as its destination of the month for January, and two of the 10 reasons the magazine cites for visiting our city are local shopping centers.

Bal Harbour Shops' oft-cited roster of luxury tenants, coupled with a recently launched cultural series, landed the luxury mall the ninth spot on the list. And the year-old 1111 Lincoln Road building makes an appearance at number four, with Osklen, Coltorti, and Alchemist boutiques specifically mentioned in the fashion bible.
1111 Lincoln Road
The smartest address on South Beach...is home to some of Lincoln Road’s chicest establishments. Among them are...one of just two U.S. outposts of the hot Brazilian fashion brand Osklen, the only branch of the multibrand Italian boutique Coltorti outside of Italy, and a spruce Taschen bookstore and art gallery. The most dramatic shop here, however, is Miami’s own Alchemist, featuring fashions and jewelry carefully curated by founders Erika and Roma Cohen, housed in a great glass box that appears to float between the concrete columns on the fifth level of this striking structure. Alchemist’s space—created by architect Rene Gonzalez—just won a coveted national AIA award for interior architecture.

We couldn't agree more with the nods (all three boutiques made our list of the 50 essential stores in Miami). Are there any other local spots that you would have liked to see on the list?
