7/28: Peruvians, The Eastern Block, and Baseball

Celebrate Peruvian independence, America's pasttime, and Eastern European hipsters

CEVICHE LIBRE: Today we celebrate the independence of the country that brought us llamas, Machu Picchu and, our favorite, ceviche. La Cofradia Ceviche Bar will commemorate the event with music, dancing, complimentary hors d'oeuvres and pisco sour tastings. Sorry, no llamas. 'Til 11:30 P.M.

BORDELLO OF FUN: Move over Borat, there's another showboating, mustachioed Eastern Euoropean on the scene. Two, actually, in the form of gypsy-punk band Gogol Bordello. You'll feel like you're at a Yugoslavian street festival, via the Lower East Side. Practice your air accordion and head to Revolution. 7 P.M.

BRAVE NEW WORLD: Who knew the Marlins were in contention for first place in the National League? (Or, more likely, who cares?) Join the rest of the team's fair-weather fans tonight as they take on the Atlanta Braves. If not for the baseball, the ice cream in the adorable mini plastic baseball helmets. 7 P.M.
