Woman Freed After Rollover Crash Traps Her In SUV In Broward

The force of a rollover car crash caused a 70-year-old woman to become trapped in her vehicle Sunday afternoon while another person was transported to the hospital, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Police said the crash happened just after 2 p.m. at the intersection of W. Broward Boulevard and 31st Avenue near Fort Lauderdale. A silver Toyota Sedan struck the white Lincoln SUV, causing the car to roll over.

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue’s Technical Rescue Team was able to free the woman from the SUV by removing the windshield. The woman was extricated with minor injuries and transported to Plantation General Hospital.

A 22-year-old passenger from the silver Toyota Sedan was treated on the scene for injuries and transported to Plantation Hospital for further evaluation.

Police are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
