Woman Posts Selfie to Overcome Body Shaming

A woman took a stand for plus-sized female shoppers by taking a selfie in a fitting room, and now the picture is going viral.

Rachel Taylor was shopping in Old Navy when she overheard an interaction between two customers that made her feel bad. A mother and her daughter were making fun of the plus-sized tank tops in the store.

Taylor was hurt by the comments, as she is a plus-sized woman. In a post on Old Navy’s Facebook page, she wrote, “I couldn’t help it; I started crying. I guess the girl and her mom walked away. I have no idea. My husband walked me out of the store to the car. I sat in the car crying for a long time but eventually went back inside to finish my shopping.”

Taylor took a selfie in the plus-size tank top once she went back into the store – and totally rocked it!
She wrote, “I ended up buying that tank top because, it turns out, I look fierce in it! Be kind. Think about others before you speak. And if someone hurts you, you have to move on.”

Old Navy responded to Taylor’s inspirational post, and offered her a gift card.

Although the post did attract some negative attention, in the end, it inspired and motivated thousands of other people.

You go girl!
