2 Fort Lauderdale Schools Placed on Lockdown for Nearby Police Investigation

Two Fort Lauderdale schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution after police responded to a suspicious person call nearby.

Meadowbrooke Elementary School and Pineridge Education Center were placed on lockdown as police responded to a call in the 2500 block of Southwest 42nd Avenue.

According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, a suspicious person was spotted walking around with what looked like rifle bags.

A perimeter was set up but the lockdown was later lifted.
