2 Men Found Shot in Brownsville, Police Looking for Suspect

Police investigating double shooting in northwest Miami-Dade

Police are investigating after two men were found shot in northwest Miami-Dade Monday morning.

The shooting happened in the 6900 block of Northwest 18th Avenue in Brownsville. The victims, ages 19 and 20, were taken by ground to Jackson Memorial Hospital where they were both in stable condition, Miami-Dade Police said.

Police said more than a dozen rifle rounds were found at the scene. One nearby resident said the gunfire woke her up.

"We could hear them running and screaming and shooting and cussing at each other," said the woman, who didn't want to be identified. "You would have thought how close and how loud it was it was coming through the windows."

Other neighbors said they were tired of the violence in their neighborhood.

"I pray for them for a recovery and hopefully this kind of behavior can stop, but that's just wishful thinking," neighbor Chris Brown said.

Police described the suspect as a black male, about five foot, who was wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
