JOLLY WINS GOP PRIMARY IN PINELLAS COUNTY
 
A longtime aide to U.S. Rep. C.W. Bill Young is the Republican nominee for a special election to fill the House seat of the late lawmaker. David Jolly won the GOP nomination in a three-way primary Tuesday, besting state Rep. Kathleen Peters and retired Marine Brig. Gen. Mark Bircher. He will face Democrat Alex Sink and Libertarian Lucas Overby in the March 11 general election.
 
PROSECUTOR: FLORIDA TOPS US IN ID THEFT, TAX FRAUD
 
A top federal prosecutor says Florida has the nation's highest rate in the nation of identity theft, with the information often used to commit tax fraud. Miami U.S. Attorney Wifredo Ferrer said Tuesday that Florida had an identity theft rate in 2012 of more than 361 complaints per 100,000 residents, tops in the country. And Miami led with way with about 645 complaints per 100,000 residents.
 
MAN GUILTY IN CRASH THAT KILLED 6 PEOPLE
 
A northeast Florida man has been convicted of causing a crash that left a Jacksonville grandmother and five members of her family dead. A Nassau County jury found 42-year-old Pedro Juan Ocasio-Alcazar guilty Tuesday of six counts of vehicular homicide. He faces life in prison at his Feb. 13 sentencing.
 
ART CALL FOR EVERGLADES VISITORS CENTER DISPLAY
 
Artists can apply to have their work on display at the visitor's center at Everglades National Park. The park announced Tuesday that artists - especially local, amateur artists - can submit their applications by March 31. The artwork can include a variety of media that focus on the natural and cultural beauty of the Everglades. The park said it's also interested in highlighting artwork done by students.
 
MAN GETS 35 YEARS FOR WIFE'S MURDER
 
A Florida Panhandle man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for his wife's death. Just a day before his trial was set to begin, 37-year-old Gary Wesley Tennyson pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree murder. Tennyson was arrested in May 2012 after police found 28-year-old Glenda Tennyson's body in a shed behind the couple's Lynn Haven home.

NURSING HOME EVACUATED FOR FIRE

Residents of a Miami Shores nursing home were evacuated after a fire broke out Wednesday morning. The fire was reported at the Sinai Plaza Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at 201 Northeast 112th Street.
