Boynton Beach Man Attempts to Kill Woman, Blames Demons: Police

Pierre Franchi was arrested after he attempted to kill a woman, saying “I have to kill the demons," according to police

A Boynton Beach man was arrested last week after he attempted to kill a woman and refused to let her out of her home, according to Boynton Beach Police.

Pierre Franchi, 29, allegedly grabbed the 66-year-old woman by the wrist and started choking her with his hands and cords from the blinds from her bedroom Thursday night. The police report says Franchi grabbed a pillow and hit the woman in the head with a handheld mirror.

According to the South Florida Sun Sentinel, the woman hosted the man when he was a French exchange student 10 years ago. The woman recently allowed him to move back in her home.

Franchi said to the victim, “I have to kill the demons,” the police report stated.

Both Franchi and the women got into an argument Thursday night and three hours later, the woman woke up to the attack by Franchi, the Sun Sentinel reported.

The woman asked Franchi to stop and told him that there were no demons, but he did not stop. Franchi also broke her cell phone so she could not call 911, according to the police report.

Franchi ordered the woman to bow down as he ripped off her bracelets and necklace, according to the report. She then broke free and went into a bathroom where she stayed for hours and yelled for help.

The victim escaped when she could not hear Franchi by the bathroom door anymore, going to a neighbor's house where she called 911.

Franchi was arrested on multiple charges and remains in the Palm Beach County Jail on $30,000 bond. It wasn't immediately known whether he has an attorney.
