Construction Still Underway in Sochi Just Days Before 2014 Winter Olympics

The games are less than two days away and there is now a rush to finish building before the games begin.

From mountaintop to manhole, construction crews are cutting, measuring and digging down to the last minute before the 2014 Winter Olympics.

The games are less than two days away and there is now a rush to finish building before the games begin.

"I think it's crazy," said Marco Jakapovis, a construction supervisor.

Jakapovis is from Slovenia and he has been working overtime in preparation for the games.

"Usually 10, 11, 12 [hours]," he said. "But that's normal. It's Russia."

At the alpine events, Jakapovis' team is building steps and walkways. Others are still painting at the ski jump. They started about three months ago.

Yet, Jakapovis is optimistic.

"It's getting close, yet but we're going to make it," he said.
