Authorities looking for man and woman who ripped off Pompano Beach convenience store

Authorities are looking for a thieving couple who was caught on video stuffing food and other items into their pants and purse at a Pompano Beach convenience store.

The theft happened back on Sept. 13 at the Shell gas station at 3101 W. Atlantic Boulevard, the Broward Sheriff's Office said Thursday.

According to the BSO, the clerk said he was helping other customers when he heard a noise and noticed the man behind the counter. He told the man the area was for employees only, and the man left the store.

After the man left, the clerk realized some electronic cigarettes were missing. When the clerk and his manager reviewed surveillance video, they saw the man stuffing several food items into his pants, the BSO said.

The video also captured a woman wearing a short dress stuffing items into her purse at the same time. The woman then purchased a few small items to distract the cashier while the man swiped the cigarettes, the BSO said.

The pair left in a black Nissan Altima with Florida license plate 147KLD, the BSO said. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
