The fire at a popular Dania Beach restaurant was accidental, a state fire official told the South Florida Sun Sentinel.

Joseph Steadman, head of the state fire marshal's bureau for fire and arson investigations, told the newspaper that the fire at Tropical Acres Steakhouse started β€œin the area of a dryer.”

The fire broke out at the restaurant shortly before 4 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

Police say the building was fully engulfed in flames when Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue units responded.

The fire was quickly under control as neighboring homes were evacuated, police said. One firefighter was treated for dehydration.
