A Marathon landlord is facing aggravated assault charges after he threatened his tenants with a shotgun in a dispute over late rent payments, authorities said Friday.

When deputies arrived, Sapp told them he'd gotten into an argument with the tenants because they hadn't been paying rent on time and he used the shotgun "to make his point," authorities said.

The victims said they'd returned from shopping when the confrontation took place. Two witnesses also confirmed seeing Sapp with the shotgun during the confrontation, authorities said.

Sapp told the deputies where to find his shotgun and was taken into custody. Jail records showed he was being held without bond Friday and it's unknown whether he has an attorney.
