Former South Beach Club Owner Busted for DUI in Miami Beach

Former club owner who served time in robbery and murder case arrested in Miami Beach

A former South Beach club owner who served nearly seven years in prison in the robbery and shooting of a woman was arrested early Friday in Miami Beach on DUI charges, police said.

Christian Ludwigsen, 40, who goes by the name Chris Paciello, was arrested around 4:30 a.m. in the 2100 block of Miami Beach Drive, Miami Beach Police spokesman Juan Sanchez said.

He faces charges of driving under the influence and DUI testing refusal, according to jail records.

Sanchez said Paciello's black Jaguar was spotted by an officer driving erratically northbound on Ocean Drive. The officer tried to catch up to the car, which was going around 80 mph, but lost him, Sanchez said.

An alert was issued and another cop spotted the car and pulled it over, Sanchez said.

Sanchez said Paciello did a roadside test but refused to take a breathalyzer test.

Paciello was booked into jail around 10:30 a.m. and was being held on $2,000 bond, jail records showed. It was unknown whether he has an attorney.

In the 90s, Paciello owned South Beach hot spots like Liquid and Bar Room. In 2000, he was sentenced to ten years in prison for his role in a robbery that ended in the shooting of a Staten Island, N.Y., woman. He was released in 2006.
