Surveillance captures robbery of Pompano store full of customers

Authorities are looking for three men behind a frightening armed robbery at a Pompano Beach Radio Shack store last month that was caught on video.

The robbery happened at the store at 167 S. Pompano Parkway about 6:30 p.m. Dec. 30, when the three masked men barged in and ordered employees and customers into the store's storage room, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

"When we turned around and the guy had the gun, then we got scared," said Dulce Jiminez, one of the customers told NBC 6 on Thursday. "We were, like, in shock."

Surveillance video shows one of the men wave an automatic weapon at the helpless victims. Jiminize and her boyfriend were among the people ordered into a back room during the robbery. No one was hurt.

Once everyone is corralled, the suspects filled a large bag with cell phones and fled through the stockroom door, the BSO said.

Sheriff's Detective Vince Coldwell said that in one portion of  the surveillance video, one of the robbers was seen lifting his mask to show part of his face.  The suspects all wore dark clothing and masks, and the armed man wore a dark gray letterman jacket with the letter "M" on the left side, the BSO said.

The jacket isn't "something you see every day," Coldwell said.
