Hollywood police are looking for at least one gunman after two men were shot early Wednesday.
The shooting happened just after 4 a.m. in the 5900 block of Mayo Street.
Hollywood Police Spokeswoman Diana Pereira said two men and a woman were on their way home from Cafe Iguana in Pembroke Pines, about four miles away, when multiple vehicles opened fire on their car.
Both men were rushed to Hollywood Memorial Regional Hospital, where the driver, 24-year-old Bryant Thomas Howard, was pronounced dead, Pereira said.
The other victim was in stable condition and is expected to be okay. The female passenger who rode with them was not shot.
Wilberto Alegria, the father of the second victim, identified him as 24-year-old Martin Ham and said he was shot twice in the leg.
Alegria said Ham and Howard had been friends since childhood.
Pereira said there may have been a fight at the nightclub that resulted in the shooting and that the group was followed.
It sounded like "a set of firecrackers," said witness Brenda Costello, who woke up to the gunfire. She thought she heard a car speed away but officers did not get a description of any vehicle.
