Homeowner's Pet Dachshund Killed During Burglary: Fort Lauderdale Police

Police looking for suspects in burglary that ended in dog's death.

Fort Lauderdale Police are investigating a burglary that ended with a homeowner's pet dog dead.

The burglary happened Tuesday morning at the home at 2624 Northeast 26th Place, Fort Lauderdale Police said.

According to police, the suspects got into the house through French doors between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.


At some point during the burglary, the homeowner's pet Dachshund was fatally injured, police said.

Detectives canvassed the neighborhood and are pursuing all leads in the ongoing investigation. Police haven't given a description of the suspects.
