House Destroyed By Fire in Coral Springs

Massive blaze destroys family's home

A Coral Springs house was completely destroyed by a fire that broke out late Tuesday night.

The fire was reported around 11 p.m. at the home in the Hidden Hammocks development in the 4900 block of Northwest 58th Terrace.

No one was home at the time of the fire.

Firefighters doused the flames but the house was a total loss, Coral Springs Fire Rescue spokesman Mike Moser said. He added that the blaze was so intense it caused the roof to collapse.

Neighbors said a family was supposed to move into the home in the next  two weeks and that construction had been ongoing. They said it looked like the fire had started in the garage.

"Large flames were coming out of the garage area, just like unbelievable, never saw that," neighbor Arnold Stahl said. "Tremendous flames...thank God these people weren't living here yet."

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
