By the time the weekend is through, thousands will have stared into the eyes of Braco at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

The 44-year-old is credited with healing both spiritually and physically through the power of his gaze.

“That energy started moving inside me. I could actually see it," says Ashley Shapiro, who believes Braco’s gaze cured her respiratory disease. "I said, ‘Oh my good Lord in Heaven, I’m going to heal.'"

Ashley and husband Larry just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Fourteen months ago, they didn’t think she would live to see another day. She now uses a wheelchair because of her disease. Then they traveled to see Braco in Hawaii.

“I woke up and it was all over. I was breathing. I was back to my energy. I was alive again,” says Ashley.

People gathered in a crowded room at the convention center, some in wheelchairs and others carrying pictures of loved ones. They were to spend about seven minutes in the presence of Braco’s gaze.

“People experience a feeling in the gazing session that they walk out the door with, a feeling of joy or a connection to happiness, ” said Angelika Whitecliff, who has written a book about the healer.

Some were moved to tears. Others moved to speak. A man in the audience held up a picture of his 10-month-old son and thanked Braco for saving the child from open heart surgery.

Braco wasn’t always a healer. His team tells us he has an economics degree and left behind a prosperous business to help the people. Braco doesn’t take money for his gazing sessions. Fees collected are used to pay for the venue rental. But there were films and other merchandise bearing his face and gaze for sale at the event.

Believers say Braco doesn’t have to be physically present to heal. They say his energy jumps off the screen. Gazing at a picture or video of him is enough.

“I was sitting in my living room just barely there. And I turn on the computer and there’s this face of an angel,” remembered Ashley. She told us her first step to healing happened while she gazed at Braco from a computer screen.
