Lawsuit Claims Rothstein Bragged About Fraud

New lawsuit claims Ponzi schemer referred to himself as a pimp

A new lawsuit in the Scott Rothstein Ponzi scheme case includes numerous emails in which Rothstein brags to an alleged accomplice about the $1.2 billion fraud's huge success.

Rothstein refers to himself as a banker and pimp in one email. Another time he says he's a punk with a bad reputation. Another says Rothstein operated the "International Bank of WOW!"

The lawsuit was filed in Broward County by wronged investors against auto magnate Edward J. "Ted" Morse Jr. It claims Morse helped fuel the Ponzi scheme and shared its profits.

A Morse attorney did not immediately respond Wednesday to a request for comment. The Morse family has said they were Rothstein's victims.

Rothstein is serving a 50-year prison sentence for fraud and racketeering. The scheme involved fake legal settlement investments.
