Man facing murder charges for gunning down motorist in Miami Gardens

A man is facing murder charges after police say he intentionally crashed his car into another vehicle and shot the vehicle's driver to death in Miami Gardens Monday.

Lemuel Anibel Rosario, 31, was charged with first degree murder in the death of 28-year-old Raul M. Idrovo, according to Miami Gardens Police.

Police say Rosario was chasing Idrovo when Idrovo's vehicle crashed into a guardrail in the area of Northwest 47th Avenue and Northwest 156th Street around 11 a.m.

Rosario then struck Idrovo's car and exchanged words with Idrovo, before he fired several shots into Idrovo's car, police said.

Police say Rosario got out of his car, walked up to Idrovo and fired another shot, hitting him in the head. Idrovo was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers responded and saw Rosario trying to flee the scene, police said. He was taken into custody without incident.

Police said they are still investigating the relationship between Rosario and Idrovo.

Rosario was being held without bail Tuesday. It was unknown whether he has an attorney.
