Man hospitalized after Sunday evening officer-involved shooting dies.

A man has died following a police-involved shooting in Hialeah late Sunday night.

The shooting happened just after 11 p.m. after officers responded to an emergency call at a home in the 4600 block of E. 8th Lane in Hialeah, Police spokesman Carl Zogby said.

Zogby said there was some sort of confrontation and officers fired on the man, identified as 52-year-old Arturo Jorge Guzman.

"Officers were forced to fire on a man they encountered in the house," Zogby said.

Guzman taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital where he was treated for gunshot wounds, Zogby said. He died at the hospital hours later.

No officers were injured in the incident and police are still investigating what led to the shooting, Zogby said.

"We've never had anything like that happen here, at least since I've been here," said neighbor Lyn Martinez.
