Man Killed in Shooting Near Miramar Nightclub

2nd victim of shooting critically injured

One man is dead and another critically injured after a shooting near a Miramar nightclub early Wednesday.

The shooting happened shortly after 4 a.m. next door to Stingerz, in the 6000 block of Miramar Parkway.

Miramar Police say it started with an argument between the gunman and two people inside a black Honda sedan.

Police say someone shot the driver and a passenger in the car. Then the passenger stumbled out into the street and may have been hit by a car, according to Miramar Police spokeswoman Tania Rues.

Rues said multiple people called 911 to report the shooting at 4:26 a.m.

Both men were taken to the hospital where the passenger was pronounced dead. The driver was in critical condition.

Rues said officers detained multiple people just south of County Line Road on State Road 7, because they spotted a car matching a witness's description.

Police examined guns in the car, but Rues would not elaborate on what they found.

The shooting is still being investigated.
