Man Shot By Robbers Crashes Into Hialeah Funeral Home

Police looking for gunmen who shot man outside Hialeah pizzeria

Police are looking for a pair of robbers who shot a man in a restaurant parking lot in Hialeah Monday night.

The incident happened around 7 p.m. outside Jerry and Joe's Pizza at 4799 Palm Avenue as the victim, a man in his early 50s, was waiting for his order, authorities said.

That's when the man was approached by two other men, who opened fire after an altercation, hitting the victim once, Hialeah Police spokesman Eddie Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez said the victim got into his truck and hit the gas to get away from the gunmen and ended up crashing into a funeral home at Palm Avenue and 49th Street.

No one was inside the funeral home and no one besides the victim was injured.

The unidentified victim was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he was expected to be ok and was talking to investigators.

"He is talking with police, he is helping us along with the investigation and with a description of these two men," Rodriguez said.

No details on the shooters have been released.
