Man Stabbed by Jealous Husband at Fort Lauderdale Motel Dies: Police

A man who was stabbed by a jealous husband who believed the man was having an extramarital affair with his wife has died from his injuries, Fort Lauderdale Police said Tuesday.

A man who was stabbed by a jealous husband who believed the man was having an extramarital affair with his wife has died from his injuries, Fort Lauderdale Police said Tuesday.

Christopher Nardi, 33, died late Monday night at Broward Health Medical Center, police said.

According to police, 32-year-old Ricardo Ramirez tracked Nardi and his wife down to a room at the Sky Motel on W. State Road 84 on Jan. 21. Ramirez took out a knife and lunged at Nardi who tried to run away.


Ramirez stabbed Nardi two more times before getting in his car and speeding away, Fort Lauderdale Police said. Police credit witnesses with helping them put out an alert with Ramirez's description and vehicle details. Officers found him at the Southland Plaza shopping center.

He tried to run away into a Winn-Dixie grocery store, where officers caught him and found three bags of cocaine on him, according to police.


Ramirez, who had been charged with premeditated attempted murder, is expected to face a premeditated murder charge now, police said. He also faces charges of resisting arrest without violence and possession of cocaine.
