Three people were arrested after deputies found 1.7 grams of methamphetamine inside a baby's shoe during a New Year's Eve traffic stop in Port Charlotte, authorities said Wednesday.
Manuel Angel Rolon, 41, Bret Alexander Rule, 29, and 20-year-old Dodie Allyson Albritton, the girl's mother, were all arrested after they were pulled over around 9:30 Monday night, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities say a deputy spotted a silver Mercedes SUV drifting over the center line and sideswiping a curb in the median several times before the stop was made.

Rolon, who was driving, told deputies his license was suspended three times and a check of the tag on the SUV showed it registered to a white Chevrolet, authorities said.
After Rolon got out of the SUV, deputies found a clear plastic baggy with white powder and $790 in his shorts pocket, authorities said. The powder tested positive for methamphetamine.
As Albritton got out of the car, deputies spotted a plastic baggy sticking out of the top of her bra. Two smaller baggies inside contained powdered meth, authorities said.
When deputies searched the SUV they found 1.7 grams of meth inside one of the one-year-old infant's shoes, which was in Albritton's purse, authorities said.

In all, deputies found 42.3 grams of meth.
Rolon and Albritton were both charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, child neglect and possession of drug paraphernalia. Rolon was also charged with driving with a suspended license. Rule was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Rolon was being held on $202,500 bond while Albritton was being held on $72,500 bond. Rule was being held on $6,500 bond. It was unknown whether they have attorneys.
The infant's father took custody and the Department of Children and Families was contacted to investigate.
