Miami Cop Drives Patrol Car Up a Pole

Officer uninjured after patrol car drives up a utility pole

A Miami Police officer wasn't injured but his car may need a little work after it drove up a utility pole in a single car accident Tuesday morning.

The accident happened in the area of Northwest 6th Avenue and 67th Street.

Miami Police said the officer was patrolling the area when he reached for a pen that had fallen. His car veered off and onto Florida Power and Light pole's extension cord, leaving his patrol car at a 45-degree angle.

Rescue workers responded and helped the officer hop out of the car uninjured.

"This is something you have to look at and laugh," Miami Police spokesman Willy Moreno said.
