Miami Dolphins' Koa Misi Arrested on California Battery Warrant

Linebacker arrested at Weston home on out of state warrant: BSO

Miami Dolphins linebacker Koa Misi was arrested at his home in Weston Friday on a battery warrant out of California, the Broward Sheriff's Office said.

Misi, 25, was being held on a felony charge of battery causing serious injury out of Santa Barbara, Calif., according to BSO spokesman Mike Jachles.

Jachles had no details of the battery charge, and the Santa Barbara Sheriff's Office didn't immediately return calls for comment Friday. It was unknown whether Misi has an attorney.

"We are aware of the situation and are in the process of gathering the information," team spokesman Harvey Greene said in a statement. "As a result we will refrain from any comment."

Misi, originally from Santa Rosa, Calif., played college ball at Utah before he was drafted by the Dolphins in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft, with the 40th overall pick.

In 18 games with Dolphins over two seasons, Misi has 75 tackles and 5.5 sacks.
