About two dozen families were advised to boil their water after a water main break flooded some streets in Miami Gardens Wednesday.
Between 20 and 25 houses were affected by the break that happened between Northwest 191st and 192nd Streets and Northwest 37th Court and Northwest 39th Avenue.
Officials said the break could take hours to repair and crews were trying to fix the break.
One woman said her couches and other items were damaged by water from the flooding.
The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department would notify each homeowner affected by the break of the precautionary boil water notice.
