Occupy Miami Still Going After Soggy Night

Demonstrators camp out after wet Sunday night

Some 50 protesters spent a soggy night outside the Stephen P. Clark Center in downtown Miami as the Occupy movement entered its third day in South Florida.

About 20 tents were set up Sunday, though one blew over and broke in the wind.

Nearly 1,000 demonstrators marched from Bayside Park to the Clark Center Saturday, with another 300 marching on downtown Fort Lauderdale. It spawned from the 'Occupy Wall Street' movement that began in New York on September 17th.

College student Philip Picaza, who has been camping out since Saturday, said he found out about the local group on Facebook.

"I really feel that it's important to stand in solidarity with not only the occupants in Wall Street but now all over the U.S. and really all over the world," said Picaza.

Picaza and other protesters say they want to start a conversation across the country about corporate greed and political corruption. Picaza said he's prepared to sleep outside the center all year if necessary.

Though arrests were reported at Occupy demonstrations throughout the country over the weekend, no arrests have been reported in Miami.
