Officer Pleads Not Guilty in Cop-On-Cop Shooting

Lauderhill cop charged with shooting fellow officer enters not guilty plea

The Lauderhill officer who allegedly shot at another officer in her patrol car pleaded not guilty to attempted first-degree murder charges Wednesday.

Kristopher John Bieger, 30, wore chains and a tan jail jumpsuit to his formal arraignment in a Broward court, where his attorney entered a written plea of not guilty on his behalf.

Bieger has been held without bond since his arrest and has been on administrative leave without pay since the Nov. 12 shooting.

According to police, the shooting happened shortly after in the 5500 block of West Oakland Park Boulevard.

The victim, Officer Brittny Skinner, was working her off-duty security job at a shopping plaza when police say Bieger, her ex-boyfriend, pulled up in a truck and fired 10 rounds from his Glock pistol at Skinner's parked police car, striking her in her bulletproof vest.

An arrest affidavit stated that they had been dating but she broke up with him over the phone the week before the shooting because of his "controlling behavior" and "severe mood swings."

He did not take the rejection well and "began to cry uncontrollably," and "begged for her to not break up with him," according to court documents.

Bieger fled the scene and was later apprehended at a pizzeria in Davie. He has been with the force since 2006.
