Police Conduct Security Sweep at Sun Life Stadium Ahead of BCS National Championship Game

Security sweep, trademark enforcement in hours before Alabama-Notre Dame matchup

Miami-Dade Police are performing their final security sweep through Sun Life Stadium ahead of Monday night's 2013 BCS National Championship Game.

Officers and explosive-detecting canines will be working throughout the day to ensure there's a safe environment at the stadium ahead of the game between Alabama and Notre Dame. All incoming delivery vehicles will be thoroughly searched.

Drivers Urged to Avoid Heavy Traffic From BCS Game

Just last week police performed a similar sweep of the stadium for the Orange Bowl with K-9s and bomb technicians on hand.

In addition to the security sweep, officials will be conducting trademark enforcement and looking for counterfeit merchandise.

Alabama, Notre Dame Fans Taking Over South Florida

Police will be enforcing trademark rights of the bowl and participating institutions and all counterfeit merchandise is subject to seizure.
