Police Search for Suspects in Fatal Drive-By in Fort Myers

Authorities are looking for assailants who opened fire on a vehicle and killed a teenage girl in the southwest Florida town of Fort Myers.

The shooting took place around 2:20 a.m. Saturday. Police say an unknown vehicle pulled up, and suspects fired multiple times before fleeing.

The victims immediately drove to Lee Memorial Hospital where 17-year-old Alexis S. Wilson of Fort Myers died. The vehicle's other two female occupants were treated and released.

Wilson's death marks the first homicide of the year in Fort Myers. Detectives are offering up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the homicide. Tipsters can call anonymously 239-321-7700 or text CRIMES, keyword FMPD.
