Hundreds of people were without power and an elderly woman was injured after she drove her car into a pole and knocked down power lines in Hialeah Monday.

It's unknown what caused the crash that happened in the area of E. 4th Avenue and 39th Street, officials said.

Rescue workers rushed to the scene and it took over a half hour to remove the woman from the car. She was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, officials said.
