Publix Thief Punched Employee, Fled on Bike: Cops

Miami-Dade Police looking for robber who wrestled employee to ground

Miami-Dade Police are looking for a bicycle-riding grocery store thief who wrestled an employee to the ground and punched him before pedaling away.

The incident happened around noon Monday at the Publix at 11750 Southwest 104th Street.

Police say the suspect walked through the store and grabbed some merchandise and tried to leave without paying.

When the employee approached him, the suspect threw him to the ground and punched him, before leaving the scene on a black bicycle, police said.

The suspect, who was seen on surveillance cameras, is described as a white male, 30-45 years old, who was wearing a white shirt, blue jeans, a hat and carried a backpack.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Miami-Dade CrimeStoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
