Rapper Brisco Reaches Deal on Battery Charge, Avoids Jail

Opa-Locka rapper enters plea in North Miami Beach battery case

A popular local rapper charged with aggravated battery in an attack on a teen agreed to a plea deal Friday that will keep him out of jail.

Brisco, whose real name is British Alexander Mitchell, received credit for time served and won't be allowed contact with the victim under the terms of the deal.

Mitchell was arrested after he allegedly punched an 18-year-old man in June 2011 in North Miami Beach. The man was knocked unconscious and Mitchell fled the scene in a Range Rover, police said.

The 28-year-old Opa-Locka born rapper was booked into Miami-Dade jail after turning himself in shortly after the incident.
